Omnia

A Web3 alternative to AWS EC2 Instances

["By clicking the link you get the frontend of a demo dApp using IC WebSockets directly from the Internet Computer blockchain. When the page loads, it opens a WebSocket connection to the IC WebSocket Gateway that we developed which then relays the connection to the Internet Computer. Once the connection is opened, the IC sends a ping and the page replies with a pong. This demonstrates a blockchain sending live updates to a client."]

About

We enable developers and DAOs to pay in with tokens for off-chain computing services. Many Web3 developers still rely on off-chain services for parts of their dapps. While the smart contract itself is hosted on a blockchain, other critical components such a frontend and database are often hosted on centralized infrastructure scuh as AWS. This way, a dapp depends on the developers’ ability to keep paying the bills to the providers and therefore, dapps with off-chain components cannot be fully autonomous. Omnia enables developers and DAOs to pay in with tokens for off-chain computing services. Many Web3 developers still rely on off-chain services for parts of their dapps. This way, a dapp depends on the developers’ ability to keep paying the bills to the providers and therefore, dapps with off-chain components cannot be fully autonomous. Omnia is a network of non-replicated server instances provided by independent parties and payable using the most popular tokens. This way, dapps can host their off-chain components on sovereign hardware and pay for these services without centralized intermediaries. DAOs can now control 100% of a dapp, not just the smart contract.
